Rockin' Retro

Morning Gorgeous!

Happy Saturday! So its been a little while since I've done a blog post - it has been a crazy few weeks. I did a detox for 9 days in the middle of it so I was concentrating on not killing someone! :P

So my boyfriend finished his exams on Thursday so we went out last night for a few to celebrate. I loved my outfit - the jumpsuit is super retro! It came from New Look - its the 'Girls on Film' line which is very cool! Stephen actually got it for me for my birthday and picked it himself -  didn't he do well!

I decided to do my hair a little retro to match the theme of the outfit - it was crazy and messy and I loved it!

I paired this fab jumpsuit with my new nude Public Desire babies! Between these and the black ones I'll never have them off me! They are so comfortable, I am just in love! I can't wait to style them with loads of different outfits!

The handbag is one Stephen got me for my birthday from River Island and I hadn't used it yet so thought I would give it a wee run out and it matched the shoes so nicely!

The necklace was a birthday present from my sister - it came from River Island. Its too cute!

LYIT SU Formal 2015!

Morning Gorgeous!

Welcome to my blog if you are a newcomer!

So I am doing a little post about my night at the LYIT Formal - I was asked to take some snaps, judged best dressed and of course I had a few cocktails while I was there! It was a great night, I'm sure everyone enjoyed it!

So my dress came from Missguided - I chose something short because I was taking photos I needed to be comfortable. I wore my Public Desire heels -  I know I know AGAIN! But they are super comfy and looked awesome with the dress! I put my hair up for the occasion, lots of back combing and hair grips! I went for a gorgeous No.7 Cranberry lippy to go with the mustard.

So my little assistant/date for the night (he'll kill me for calling him that, pictured looking devilishly handsome below!) basically walked around the venue before the meal and snapped some photos, wrote down the names of our favourites and had to make a very tough decision! It was incredibly fun - I loved every minute of it!

And the winner is.....

The Best Dressed Male: Luke Hardiman
We chose Luke because we ADORED the tartan and the bow tie went perfectly! He looked uber cool and collected his award with serious suave! It was quite different also, we did not see anyone else in a similar style and I am for sure a sucker for Tartan!

The Best Dressed Female: KellyAnn Moore
Probably the most adorable person ever - the dress was stunning on her! It suited her fantastically and her hair and makeup were perfect for the style of the dress. We loved that this was so different to anything else we'd come across on the night and so elegant. I think you'll agree that she looks amazing - a very deserving winner!

Me on stage announcing the winners in front of 550 people - YIKES!

So I have included a few more pics from the night, I couldn't put them all in as there were so many but I chose a few of my favourites!

Love love love this dress - how gorgeous does she look in it!
Hairstyle is fab too and she matches her date so well!

Really loved this little gold sequined dress - I loved the long sleeves, so elegant.
That blue in the other dress too is amazing - so vibrant!

I loved all of these! I adore that white pleated skirt - its beautiful!

And a few more of my faves!

So that is all from the LYIT formal - all the pics I took are up on the LYIT SU Facebook page so be sure to have a look! Let me know who was your best dressed for the night too! :)

70's Vibin'

Morning Gorgeous!

Today we're channelling the 70's - breaking out of the skinnies and reaching for the flares! I ADORE the 70's vibe coming back into style, its super comfy and oh so chic!

I chose this outfit for a days shopping with my parents in Derry - we were getting mum an outfit for a wedding. Or I was putting my stamp of approval on the one she had picked herself should I say!

This outfit was comfy but still uber stylish, perfect for a day of retail therapy! Needless to say I bought myself a few bits too - be rude not to right?

I paired the patterned flares with a crisp white cropped shirt which I tucked in and a gorgeous statement necklace - all from H&M. I'm a walking advert for H&M these days! I threw on my black lightweight duster to keep it quite structured and my tan chunky Penney's sandals - I put white socks on with the sandals as it was quite chilly out and it just added to the 70's vibe!

I hope you enjoyed my take on the 70's!

My New Bag's First Trip Out!

Morning Gorgeous!

So this is a post I am SO excited about! I adored this outfit and mostly because of the bag -  oh the glorious bag!

My boyfriend bought me this for my birthday - I had been hinting for quite some time. He'd have to be pretty stupid not to have picked up on them to be fair! AND thankfully he did. It is without a doubt my favourite item that I own. The colour, the size, the shape - everything about it! It is from River Island and it is €60 - for a statement piece like this that is such a good price!

So this was on the day of my birthday - there was a few of us going for an early dinner to Stateside in Letterkenny. Fab place with awesome food! The outfit I chose for this was relatively casual and quite boho chic! The hat I threw on last minute for the photos because I loved the look altogether but I didn't wear it to dinner.

I bought this cardigan last week from H&M and it was only €12.99 so I definitely couldn't pass it up! Its really lightweight so perfect for Summer and I love the pattern. The top came from there too, I am a sucker for khaki and it was so cheap at under €10! I have become a massive H&M fan recently - there are so many bargains in there it is unreal. I've got lots of little sleeveless shirts in there recently for only €10 each and a pair of high waisted black trousers for only €10 too. Absolute bargain!

I paired these with my River Island black ripped skinnies and my chunky black heels from Penney's. I bought these shoes last year and I have hardly worn them, mainly because they feel really heavy on my feet and my legs get so tired wearing them which sounds ridiculous but its true! I tend to only wear them if I won't be doing much walking!

Top - H&M
Cardigan - H&M
Shoes - Penney's
Bag - River Island - ORANGE ZIP AND PADLOCK TOTE BAG
Hat - Penney's

Make Me Beautiful!

Morning Gorgeous!

So I don't usually do this but I am posting my make up details from the night I wore the white lace dress. I really liked my make up for a change so I took a few photos to share with you and give you my product list.

I am not in any way trained in applying make up, I only know what I have taught myself over the years, which is probably not very much! So before I buy anything I troll the internet looking for reviews and photos to see what is best to use. I'm sure there are plenty of people on the same boat so this is my product list and a short review on each.

Skin
Primer - Mac - Prep+Prime Natural Radiance Base Lumiere, Radiant Pink
I am currently looking for a new Primer but this one is fine - it gives the make up an nice even finish and it lasts quite a bit longer.

Base - Sleek MakeUP - CC Cream, Fair
Honestly I don't think this makes much difference as I have done my make up lots without it and it looks the same. This is really a tinted moisturiser and the CC stands for 'Colour Correcting'. It is quite handy though for throwing on under a powder for a quick nip to the shops if you don't want to put your full face on!

Foundation - Mix of Estee Lauder and Chanel - Estee Lauder Double Wear Light, Intensity 1.0. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, 20 Beige
I like the lightweight feel of the Chanel but I add the Estee Lauder to give it a longer last. I feel they work well together. I have also recently got a No7 foundation which I mix with the Estee Lauder and I love that too - the No7 is Stay Perfect in Warm Ivory. The No7 is a little heavier than the Chanel so is perfect for a night out.

Contour - Crownbrush - Countour Palette
I have only recently started to Contour as I have seen it done so badly I have been scared away from it! :P But as with anything, practice makes perfect and I am still practicing! I would only use this cream contour on a night out as it can be quite harsh for day time. I usually only add a concealer/highlighter for day time and I use Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer in 010 Porcelain.

Powder - Mac - Mineralize Skin finish, Medium
This powder is designed to set your make up without adding a colour and its great, it really does exactly what it says on the tin. I have been using this for as long as I can remember.

Blush - Sleek - Contouring and Blush Palette, Light 373
I use the blusher in this powder contour palette for nights out, it has a bit of a gold shimmer in it which looks great but maybe a little much for day time. For day time I use Max Factor Perfection Blush in 223 Natural Glow. It is a nice light pink for a more minimal look for day time.

Powder Highlight - Sleek - Contouring and Blush Palette, Light 373
I use the same palette as an extra highlighter just for the cheekbone. It has a light shimmer in it so I usually do a line along my cheekbone above the blush.

Eyes
Shadow - Urban Decay - Naked2
The Naked2 palette is my go to palette for night and day make up. It is the best! I have the Naked3 also and it is nice for a change as it is very pinkish but the 2 is definitely my favourite. You can do a bronzed eye and a smokey eye with it and those are pretty much my go to styles! I do run a little bronzer in the crease of my eye also along with the Naked palette to add some depth.

Liquid Liner - Rimmel - Exaggerate Eye Liner, 001 100% Black
I love this liner - its quite easy to control which is important for liquid liner as the process is difficult enough as it is! I don't know about the rest of you but this putting on liquid liner is the worst part of putting on make up - I never get them both the same and always end up with black eyes! Its a very rare occasion where my liner is in good shape but since using the Exaggerate liner it is definitely been an easier process.

Mascara - Maybelline New York - The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara, Smoky Black
So I have been intending to buy the Benefit mascara everyone is talking about but it seems ridiculous to spend that much money on a mascara! So while I talk myself into it I am using the Colossal from Maybelline. I like this one, as long as I curl my eye lashes it gives pretty good volume.

Brows - Sleek MakeUP - Brow Kit, Dark 818
I LOVE this brow kit, it has a powder and a cream in the kit. I don't even use the cream, the powder on its own gives me the brows I want on its own. It doesn't budge all day and longer if required! I sometimes wake up after a night out and my brows are still on point!

Lips
Lipstick - Mac - Matte Russian Red A93
I love this lippy, it is the perfect red and stays on for AGES! It is my absolute favourite.

I have included a photo below of my make up from Thursday night also - I used the same products I have listed above. Lipstick is No7 Cranberry.

I hope this helps! I know other people's reviews always help me chose products so hopefully you got some information today! Let me know if there is something I have not covered that you'd like to see.

Totally Addicted to Lace!

Morning Gorgeous!

So this post is all about this gorgeous lace dress I wore out for another birthday night out! I know - another night out, I celebrated too much!

I picked this up in H&M one day I was in buying baby clothes for a present for a friend. I didn't even try it on - I just thought it looked nice so I risked it. Mostly because it was only €25, total bargain for such a beautiful dress! Its so simple but so stunning on. I got so many compliments on this dress and I will definitely be wearing it again - just need another occasion!

This dress was incredibly comfortable too which was great. I paired it with my white 'barely there' Aldo heels I wore with my peach skirt last week. I loved the all white look! The back of the dress was pure lace so you can't wear a bra with it - I picked up the little stick on padded ones in Penney's which did was job!

The jacket is one I got from Missguided some time ago - I featured it on here previously and it was no longer available on the site as it was last year I picked it up.

The dress had a high neck so my jewelery consisted of a few simple rings, some Penney's bracelets and my River Island watch.

Dress - H&M
Shoes - Aldo Shoes - Alternatives provided in a previous post - My Birthday Suit
Jacket - Missguided - Alternatives provided in a previous post - Cocktails and Catch Ups
Bag - New Look - Black Snakeskin Print Clutch

I have so many more buys from H&M recently to post so get a run in and have a look, they have some gorgeous bits at the minute!

Happy Shopping.
